Football Recap: Fuquay - Varina Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fuquay - Varina can now relate to. They were dealt a 52-8 loss at the hands of the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Crusaders are ranked sixth).

Aaron Anderson had a dynamite game For Cardinal Gibbons., rushing for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Anderson a new career-high. Brayden Karras was another key player, picking up 72 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Fuquay - Varina has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
