Basketball Game Preview: American Patriots vs. Jackson Generals

The American Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Jackson Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Jackson's offense will have their work cut out for them.

American is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Hialeah just ended the team's four-game winning streak back in December of 2024. They took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thoroughbreds. The game was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Patriots couldn't quite close it out.

Despite their defeat, American saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lajahnique Olive, who posted 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Allison Pena, who put up eight points in addition to eight boards and six blocks.

Meanwhile, Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 58-31 loss at the hands of Coral Gables. One positive for the Generals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, American fell to 4-1. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for American against Jackson when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 45-11 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for American since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
