Baseball Game Preview: Amesbury Redhawks vs. Ipswich Tigers

Amesbury is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out to square off against the Ipswich Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Neither Amesbury nor Ipswich posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Amesbury can't be too happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Friday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pentucket Regional. The defeat continues a trend for the Redhawks in their meetings with Pentucket Regional: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ipswich duked it out with Arlington Catholic on Tuesday. The Tigers came up short against the Cougars, falling 12-2.

Everything went Amesbury's way against Ipswich when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Amesbury made off with an 8-2 victory. Do the Redhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
