The Indianapolis Northwest W Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Fort Wayne HomeSchool Hawks at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Indianapolis Northwest W was able to grind out a solid win over Northside L, taking the game 59-49.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indianapolis Northwest W to victory, but perhaps none more so than Finn Sempsrott, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Josh Bowers, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne HomeSchool entered their tilt with Benton HomeSchool on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bucks, sneaking past 68-65. 68 seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Fort Wayne HomeSchool's win came from a few key players Indianapolis Northwest W will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dominic Graber, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave him a new career-high. Isaiah Krawczyk was another key player, going 7 for 14 on his way to 21 points.
Fort Wayne HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Indianapolis Northwest W, their record is now 12-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Indianapolis Northwest W has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Indianapolis Northwest W ended up a good deal behind Fort Wayne HomeSchool when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 74-56. Thankfully for Indianapolis Northwest W, Sam Newcomer (who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
