Softball Recap: Williamston Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Williamston and Lansing Catholic, and Lansing Catholic kept the tradition alive. The Hornets came up short against the Cougars on Thursday, falling 15-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Thursday.

Keira Heathcock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Shea O'Neil was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Williamston's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Lansing Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Williamston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-6 defeat against Jenison on the 10th. Lansing Catholic has also already played their next game (against St. Louis), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
