Softball Recap: Sehome Mariners vs. Ferndale Golden Eagles

Sehome was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell victim to a rough 17-5 defeat at the hands of the Ferndale Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sehome of the 21-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

For Ferndale's part, Mallory Butenschoen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Butenschoen has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Butenschoen was even better at the plate, going 4-for-4 with six RBI and two doubles.
