Baseball Game Preview: Calabasas Coyotes vs. Westlake Warriors

For the second straight game, Calabasas will face off against Westlake. The Coyotes will square off against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Calabasas will head out to face Westlake after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. The Coyotes took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Westlake's part, Micah Cummins looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cummins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Blake Miller, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-5. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Backus, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Westlake lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win (which was Westlake's eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Calabasas, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
