Basketball Recap: Fort Worth Christian Takes a Loss

Fort Worth Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Coram Deo Academy Lions, falling 51-31. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-48 on January 3rd.

Coram Deo Academy was led to victory by Selah Johnson and Emily Revering. Johnson posted 22 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Revering almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Coram Deo Academy's points. Campbell Skelly was another key player, putting up six points.

Fort Worth Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Coram Deo Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Fort Worth Christian Cardinals challenge the Grace Prep Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Worth Christian is facing Grace Prep at the right time seeing as Grace Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Coram Deo Academy, they will square off against Grapevine Faith Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
