Covenant Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. Everything went their way against the Calvary Baptist Eagles as they made off with a 65-45 victory. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered an 80-45 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Thomas Heine, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds. Cannon Hargrave was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 16 points.
Calvary Baptist dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Coincidentally, Covenant Academy and Calvary Baptist will both be playing Founders Christian the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2026.
