Basketball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

Lexington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt an 86-49 defeat at the hands of the Grace Christian Academy Lions.

Grace Christian Academy was led to victory by Ty Gibbs and Ford Deshazo. Gibbs dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 boards, while Deshazo went 8 of 16 on his way to 21 points along with seven boards and four blocks. With that strong performance, Deshazo is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Stewart, who posted six points.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Grace Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Lexington will be playing in front of their home fans against Clements at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Grace Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-43 win against East Hickman County on the 28th.
