Baseball Game Preview: Palmetto Panthers vs. Miami Springs Golden Hawks

The Palmetto Panthers will head out to challenge the Miami Springs Golden Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Palmetto saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost 7-1 to Belen Jesuit. The Panthers have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Palmetto saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Revuelta, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. What's more, Revuelta also posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Miami Springs made easy work of Southwest on Wednesday and carried off a 10-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Hawks.

Kaiser Alvarez looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). What's more, he also gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Magdiel Estevez, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Jordanny Gonzalez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Miami Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest only posted an OBP of .367.

Miami Springs' record now sits at 2-0. As for Palmetto, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Palmetto came out on top in a nail-biter against Miami Springs in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, sneaking past 5-3. Will Palmetto repeat their success, or does Miami Springs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
