Basketball Game Preview: Hinsdale Central Red Devils vs. Downers Grove North Trojans + Official Tickets

Hinsdale Central and Downers Grove North are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Red Devils will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hinsdale Central has given up an average of 54.7 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hinsdale Central lost 58-34 to York on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while the Dukes are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, Downers Grove North waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 62-58 W against the Red Wolves. The Trojans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Downers Grove North's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Hinsdale Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Hinsdale Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Downers Grove North when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 45-43. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
