Softball Game Preview: Davis Darts vs. Weber Warriors

For the second straight game, Davis will face off against Weber. The Darts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Davis has five straight victories, Weber has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Davis' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Weber with a sharp 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Darts, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Norah Sunderland was incredible, firing off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Nielson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Davis hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Weber's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Davis, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.

Weber's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Davis has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Weber, though, as they've been averaging 11.1 hits. Given Davis' sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
