Basketball Recap: Lone Peak Knights vs. Westlake Thunder

Even though the Westlake Thunder scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, the Lone Peak Knights still came out on top. Lone Peak took their match against the Thunder 72-61. That's another feather in the cap for Lone Peak, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Leading Lone Peak to victory were Chamberlain Burgess and Thomsen Kramer. Burgess scored 23 points along with six rebounds and six blocks, while Kramer scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burgess has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Enoch Mitchell, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Lone Peak now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Westlake, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Lone Peak will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Pleasant Grove is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Westlake will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Lehi presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Thunder in Utah (the Pioneers are ranked fourth, while the Thunder are ranked 58th).
