Volleyball Preview: Nipomo Titans vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders
The Nipomo Titans will take on the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Nipomo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Righetti as they made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Nipomo never let Righetti on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 28-26.
Among those leading the charge was Torin Reynolds, who had 14 digs.
Nipomo was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in March.
Orcutt Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Roosevelt proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spartans. The victory was nothing new for the Rough Riders as they're now sitting on three straight.
One reason for the win was Roosevelt's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.
Nipomo's win bumped their record up to 22-14. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 12-17.
