Basketball Recap: Frederick Takes Down Urbana in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Frederick rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They really took it to the Urbana Hawks for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-33 win. The Cadets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 30, 2024.

Urbana lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sean Pyles, who posted 12 points. Tristan Thompson was another key player, putting up ten points and eight rebounds.

Frederick pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for Urbana, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season.

Frederick will challenge Governor Thomas Johnson on Thursday. Governor Thomas Johnson will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Frederick surely won't give up without a fight. Urbana does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
