Volleyball Recap: Wakefield Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Green Level, Wakefield was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Sanderson Spartans. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won seven in a row.

Wakefield was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 24-26, 25-11, 25-17.

When it comes to explaining why Sanderson lost, don't look at Ryleigh Roche. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and two aces.

The victory got Wakefield back to even at 1-1. As for Sanderson, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Wakefield and Wake Forest will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sanderson, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Rolesville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
