Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is North East's Third in Last Four Outings

North East lost to Perryville back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Indians came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 4-1.

Jazmyn Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on ten hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Victoria McGee was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Jahnel Ledford was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

North East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Perryville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

North East will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
