Baseball Game Preview: Hialeah Thoroughbreds vs. Coral Shores Hurricanes

The Hialeah Thoroughbreds will head out on the road to challenge the Coral Shores Hurricanes at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hialeah's offense. They lost 10-0 to Coral Reef on Tuesday. The Thoroughbreds have struggled against the Barracudas recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Coral Shores won against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) on Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Coral Shores put the hurt on Coral Park with a sharp 15-4 win. With that victory, the Hurricanes brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on AJ Putetti, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Riley OBerry was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Coral Shores was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hialeah fell to 3-1. As for Coral Shores, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

Hialeah was able to grind out a solid victory over Coral Shores in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 6-1. Does Hialeah have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coral Shores turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
