Volleyball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with O'connor

Highland faced O'Connor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Hawks fell 2-0 to the Eagles. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Despite the loss, Highland still got an impressive performance from Camryn Thruston, who had ten digs and three assists. Thruston is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

O'Connor found their leader in sophomore Anabelle Cummings, who had ten digs and two assists.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for O'Connor, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Highland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Corona del Sol on the 30th. As for O'Connor, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Hamilton on the 30th.
