Baseball Recap: Scott's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Scott dropped their record down to 14-10 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rowan County Vikings. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Scott saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonas Foltz, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

As for Rowan County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Rowan County's side, Abram Norden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Ben Dehart was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Will Richardson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Scott has already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Dixie Heights on the 12th. As for Rowan County, they will host Wolfe County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
