Basketball Game Preview: Woodward Boomers vs. Weatherford Eagles

Woodward hasn't had much luck against Weatherford recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Woodward Boomers will venture away from home to challenge the Weatherford Eagles at 7:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Woodward was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-53 to Anadarko.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Weatherford rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 67-22 victory over the Bulldogs. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won 15 contests in a row.

Weatherford pushed their record up to 25-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.3 points. As for Woodward, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Woodward was dealt a bruising 80-40 loss at the hands of Weatherford when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Woodward avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
