Recap: Williamsport Millionaires vs. Pottsville Crimson Tide
This season hasn't been kind to the Williamsport Millionaires, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pottsville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Williamsport has scored all season.
Pottsville's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Alvarez, who scored 11 points. The game was Alvarez's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Letrel Montone, who scored nine points.
Williamsport has fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 0-5. As for Pottsville, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamsport will be home for the holidays to greet Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dallas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Williamsport in Pennsylvania (Dallas is ranked 210th, while Williamsport is ranked 621st). Pottsville will finish 2023 at home by hosting Shamokin Area at 1:30 p.m. on December 30th.
