Flag Football Game Preview: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. El Capitan Gauchos + How To Watch

The Elk Grove Thundering Herd will challenge the El Capitan Gauchos at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Elk Grove 13.4, El Capitan 9.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

Elk Grove took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 19-6 win over Franklin. Given the Thundering Herd's advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Wildcats are ranked 426th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Elk Grove's defense and their five sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kyleann Baird.

Meanwhile, El Capitan waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Thunder 26-12.

El Capitan's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Elk Grove, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
