Basketball Recap: Matthew Allen-Shorter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Idea

The Lanham Christian Lions strolled past the Idea Timberwolves with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 56-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Lanham Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Allen-Shorter, who posted 14 points and five boards. Brandon Williams was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Idea's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tobias Hammett, who earned nine points in addition to five boards and four steals. Hammett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaidyn Lewis, who had eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Lanham Christian's record is now 2-0. As for Idea, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Lanham Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-62 defeat against Clinton Grace Christian on the 15th. As for Idea, they have also already played their next game, an 85-49 loss against Digital Pioneers Academy on the 16th.
