Baseball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Rancho Bernardo took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Torrey Pines, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Broncos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Falcons on Monday. For the Broncos, this counts as revenge for the 7-1 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Rancho Bernardo got a great performance from Christopher Bayne as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Bayne is becoming a predictor of the Broncos' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 9-11 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Rancho Bernardo's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Camden Rogers, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Rogers a new career-high.

Rancho Bernardo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Torrey Pines, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.

Rancho Bernardo will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
