Softball Game Preview: Robinson Rockets vs. China Spring Cougars

Robinson has won four straight games at home, while China Spring has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Robinson Rockets will welcome the China Spring Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Robinson knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully China Spring likes a good challenge.

Robinson's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on China Spring with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Robinson got a big performance out of Lexi Rosillo, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Rosillo posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaygen Marshall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Robinson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive matchups.

Robinson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. China Spring's loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Robinson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like China Spring struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
