Soccer Recap: Cabrillo Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mojave on Saturday, Cabrillo came back down to earth. The Cabrillo Conquistadores fell just short of the Mt. Whitney Pioneers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Cabrillo's goal came courtesy of Diego Espinoza, which was the first he's scored this season.

Cabrillo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-2 record this season. As for Mt. Whitney, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabrillo and Cate will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mt. Whitney, they are taking a road trip to face off against Orange Cove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Whitney's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
