Meigs County couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Loudon Redskins on Tuesday, falling 67-45. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redskins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the loss, Meigs County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mason Davis went 6 for 12 en route to 17 points plus six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Powell, who scored eight points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meigs County is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they challenge Harriman at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meigs County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Loudon, they will take on McMinn County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
