Basketball Game Preview: Holmes Aces vs. Manteo Redskins

Having just played yesterday, the Holmes Aces will get right back to it and host the Manteo Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Holmes and 12 for Manteo.

Holmes came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Currituck County by a score of 46-44 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Aces can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Knights are ranked 138th).

Meanwhile, Manteo came up short against Pasquotank County on Monday, falling 47-23.

Manteo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Holmes, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Holmes strolled past Manteo in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 35-20. Will Holmes repeat their success, or does Manteo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
