Youngker proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Desert Edge Scorpions 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Scorpions: they've now won three in a row.

Matthew Carroll looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Riley Carteno, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Youngker pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Edge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Youngker will venture away from home to face off against Kellis at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Roughriders are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Desert Edge, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Verrado at 6:00 p.m. The Vipers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Scorpions surely won't give up without a fight.
