Softball Recap: Doyline Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Doyline had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Woodlawn-Shreveport Knights get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Karmadie Bartlett made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bartlett was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Doyline got a massive performance out of Lanie Gates, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Gates has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Kanyion Bartlett was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Doyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .963. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Doyline's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Woodlawn-Shreveport, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Doyline will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair will be back at it again later today.
