Football Game Preview: Winslow Township Eagles vs. Cherokee Chiefs

The Winslow Township Eagles will head out to square off against the Cherokee Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Winslow Township is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Winslow Township gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They claimed a resounding 41-6 victory over Mainland Regional. With the Eagles ahead 27-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Jalen Parker was his usual excellent self, throwing for 290 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. What's more, he racked up 156.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Quayd Hendryx was Parker's top target, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, Cherokee took a blow against Millville on Thursday, falling 55-28. The defeat continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Thunderbolts: they've now lost seven in a row.

Cherokee's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Winslow Township, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Winslow Township against Cherokee in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 44-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
