Selma had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Dallas County Hornets as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the Saints' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

While Selma might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Dallas County scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 27-25.

Dallas County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Na'Kaiya Stubbs, who had eight aces and one assist. Stubbs has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of AnnaBelle Garzee, who had 14 assists and two aces.

Dallas County now has a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Selma will face off against Jemison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dallas County, they will head out to challenge Keith at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
