Softball Recap: Marion's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Marion had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada 11-1. The Swamp Foxes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Armada, too.

Maliyah Williams was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Payten Sawyer was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Marion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .467 or higher in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Marion back to even at 3-3. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Marion will have a chance to go back-to-back against Atlantic Collegiate Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
