Volleyball Game Preview: Prospect Ridge Academy Miners vs. Jefferson Academy Jaguars

The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners are taking a road trip to face off against the Jefferson Academy Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prospect Ridge Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Peak to Peak came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Prospect Ridge Academy, but Genevieve Forsman wouldn't allow it. The Miners walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Pumas on Tuesday for which the team can thank Forsman, who had 19 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 17 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 24-26, 25-17.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Jefferson Academy and Forge Christian, and Forge Christian kept the tradition alive. The Jaguars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fury on Wednesday. While the Jaguars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Fury 25-15 in the first set.

Jefferson Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-23.

Jefferson Academy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Prospect Ridge Academy couldn't quite get it done against Jefferson Academy when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Miners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
