Basketball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Summit Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 78-17 loss at the hands of the Valor Preparatory Academy Knights. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-9.

Valor Preparatory Academy was led to victory by Miles Kelber and Connor McFarling. Kelber went 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and four steals, while McFarling went 7 of 10 en route to 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Maddox Meline, who posted nine points and five boards.

Summit Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Summit Christian Academy will host Holy Trinity Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Summit Christian Academy is facing Holy Trinity Catholic at the right time seeing as Holy Trinity Catholic is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will face off against Austin Waldorf at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Valor Preparatory Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Austin Waldorf likes a good challenge.
