Preview: South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls vs. Gray Stone Day Knights
After four games on the road, South Stanly is heading back home. They will take on the Gray Stone Day Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Stanly comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
South Stanly suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 81-11 loss at the hands of Union Academy. While losing is never fun, South Stanly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while Union Academy is ranked 92nd).
Meanwhile, Gray Stone Day's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Albemarle, falling 72-24. Gray Stone Day has struggled against Albemarle recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
South Stanly bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Gray Stone Day, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
