Volleyball Recap: Del Oro's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Del Oro can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Buchanan Bears on Saturday. The Golden Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 27-29, 25-18, 25-19.

Buchanan found their leader in sophomore Carlos Jay, who had 24 assists and four digs. Those 24 assists set a new season-high mark for Jay.

Del Oro's loss dropped their record down to 25-14. As for Buchanan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-16 record this season.

Del Oro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Buchanan, they will take on Mater Dei at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Monarchs will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
