Basketball Recap: NCSSM: Durham Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

After losing to Franklin Academy the last time they met, NCSSM: Durham decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The NCSSM: Durham Unicorns walked away with a 28-20 win over the Franklin Academy Patriots on Monday. The score was all tied up 9-9 at the break, but the Unicorns were the better team in the second half.

Despite the loss, Franklin Academy had strong showings from Bella DeLiso, who posted seven points, and Iliana Rodriguez, who put up four points and six rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for NCSSM: Durham, bringing their record for this year to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.0 points over those games. As for Franklin Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
