Basketball Recap: Hoover Skates Past University City with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Hoover over University City in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hoover Cardinals blew the University City Centurions out of the water with a 73-41 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cardinals had established a 26 point advantage.

Hoover's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jewel Parker, who posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Myesha Frank, who earned 16 points.

University City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kami Demara, who had 23 points and five steals, and Kianna Lefear, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Demara continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Hoover has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for University City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Hoover has already played their next contest, a 50-48 loss against High Tech SD on the 10th. As for University City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-27 defeat against Cathedral Catholic on the 10th.
