Basketball Recap: Gulf Coast HEAT Takes a Loss

Gulf Coast HEAT lost against Lakewood Ranch back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lions were dealt a 76-43 defeat at the hands of the Mustangs. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Gulf Coast HEAT's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lakewood Ranch, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Coast HEAT won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will be up against the Manta Rays' rather soft defense (which has allowed 71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lakewood Ranch, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Manatee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
