Basketball Game Preview: Spiro Bulldogs vs. Leflore Savages

The Spiro Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Leflore Savages at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spiro has seven straight wins, Leflore has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

In Friday's Canine Competition, Spiro came out on top. They strolled past Heavener with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 48-29. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Wolves are ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-22, which was the final score in Leflore's tilt against Howe on Thursday.

Spiro pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Leflore, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Spiro came up short against Leflore in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 58-53. Can Spiro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
