Softball Recap: Mt. Diablo's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mt. Diablo came into Thursday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 16-7 margin over the San Lorenzo Grizzlies on Thursday. The Red Devils not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10, 2024.

Mt. Diablo got a massive performance out of Faith Sotelo, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave Sotelo a new career-high in stolen bases. Dazzelynn Alon was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Seven bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Mt. Diablo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mt. Diablo's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for San Lorenzo, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Mt. Diablo will take on Albany at 4:30 p.m. on March 27th. As for San Lorenzo, they will challenge Berkeley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
