Softball Recap: River Valley Raiders vs. Meigs Marauders
River Valley extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-14 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Meigs Marauders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in April.
As for Meigs, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The result was nothing new for the Marauders, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
For Meigs' part, Jordin Davenport was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave Davenport a new career-high. Aubrey Newell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
River Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-1 defeat against Adena on the 13th. As for Meigs, they have also already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against West Union on the 13th.
