Softball Recap: Mesilla Valley Christian School Takes a Loss

Mesilla Valley Christian School extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-6 in the process. They came up short against the Lordsburg Mavericks, falling 15-5. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-6 loss on Tuesday.

Stailey Faust made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Ella Rice also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

As for Lordsburg, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.6 runs.

On Lordsburg's side, they got a massive performance out of Eva Trujillo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Trujillo a new career-high. Dani Esquivel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

Mesilla Valley Christian School has already played their next game, a 20-0 victory against Mescalero Apache on the 24th. As for Lordsburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-5 win against Capitan on the 24th.
