Recap: Sedan Devils vs. Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans

The Sedan Devils fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 53-52 to the Spartans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Sedan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cedar Vale/Dexter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Cedar Vale/Dexter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Edee Boatman out in front who scored 15 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boatman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zoe Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Sedan has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sedan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Argonia at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Argonia is ranked 257th, while Sedan is ranked 268th). As for Cedar Vale/Dexter, they will head out on the road to square off against Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
