Soccer Recap: Kellam Comes Up Short

After flying high against Green Run on April 10th, Kellam came back down to earth. The Knights fell just short of the Ocean Lakes Dolphins by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Kellam came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while Ocean Lakes are ranked 26th).

Kellam's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1-1. As for Ocean Lakes, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kellam will welcome Cox at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ocean Lakes, they will take on Princess Anne at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Princess Anne will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Ocean Lakes surely won't give up without a fight.
