Lynbrook hasn't had much luck against Saratoga recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Sarah Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Audrey Lee was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Saratoga had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. Everything went their way against the Condor as they made off with a 12-1 win. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by exactly 11 runs.
Saira Ramakrishnan made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sydney Riera was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Dahlia Murthy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Saratoga always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MacDonald only posted an OBP of .300.
Saratoga's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Lynbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lynbrook hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Saratoga struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
