Basketball Recap: Arlington Heights Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Arlington Heights and Denton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Arlington Heights had to settle for second. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Denton Broncos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 47-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Denton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ethan Sheats led the charge by putting up 20 points. Hudson Torres was another key player, posting 14 points.

Arlington Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 23-13. As for Denton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-14 record this season.

Arlington Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denton, they will square off against Chapin on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Chapin comes in on 24 and Denton on three.
